Time heals all wounds...

At least that is what I am hoping for. Sorry that I havent been posting in a while. Alot has been going on. Ive been working on some new jewelry. Getting photos and getting the photos ready for the new website that I am also working on.

Also on the home front, there have been some serious issues with Cami. Shes fine but there have been some other issues at hand. I will post a more detailed blog about that when there is more to know. She has an appointment coming up with a psychologist and a possible formal diagnosis. I have already pinned her as borderline ADD but its worse now. Her doctor is suspecting ADHD and she is on a new med to be able to sleep at night. Her midnight bordom rampages are getting out of hand. I will fill you all in on that after the appointment to see what happens then.

Its exhausting and very stressful. Shes so sweet and happy but when the sugar hits or the lack of sleep hits, watch out. Its not fun. Shes not mean or anything but she gets very emotional and at the same time, shes bouncing on the ceiling. She gets vocal when she needs to do something simple like taking a bath or picking up her clothes.

School starts next week and Im hoping that this new sleep thing will help. Im not ready to have that kind of stress with her and then start in a new class. So the appointment is scheduled at 4:30pm of the first day of school. Lets see how this psychologist sees her on her over tired stage of the day.

I will keep you all updated.

I got diagnosed with ADD in college. It was unofficial since the person doing the testing was a grad student, but still. When I got to a real doctor, he told me he hated ADD and ADHD as a diagnosis. He called it a "negative-result diagnosis." Since you have some symptoms from a lot of different things - OCD, anxiety, among other things - but not any one of those things, you must have ADD. Still, the drugs have helped, but I've recently read that the symptoms may be a reaction to a food allergy. So I'm going to set up an appointment to see an allergist soon. Honestly? I'd rather change my diet than continue to take pills for the rest of my life.

Yeah Im thinking to have the food thing tested too but I have to go through the doctors recommendations on it. Or my insurance wont pay for it.

This is something that has been on going for a couple of years now though. I work with kids like this and its my job to help with any diagnosis processes in school.

I hate seeing her struggle. I will be posting something up after her visit to the specialist. Ive been writing everything down that shes been doing and stuff. This goes back to kindergarten.

My sister had a lot of success with diet changes with her foster child, but this child has autism, not ADD. But maybe there is something you can do that with diet that would be beneficial.

You have a lot on your shoulders, BC. Remember to take care of yourself, too.

We had a few rough nights again. One night she was up til 530am and thats with the medication. I think a huge thing is that we have to constantly tell her things multilple times. Cam, brush your teeth. Say that to her about 4 times in the morning. Then we leave and you ask her if she did. Oh, I forgot. But the thing is, she really did forget. Its so frustrating. I feel like I dont know which way to turn. It has been stressful with my uncle having a stroke. Hes home now but hes numb in one leg. Good thing it was minor. My other uncle having cancer really bad. They are removing him to a treatment center in Tampa but its not looking too good. My father was rushed to the ER twice in 36 hours for dropping pulse rate with a raise in blood pressure. Not pretty. Hes home and ok now but who knows. He wont tell anyone anyways.

School for me starts on Wed when I have to report for the district meeting and then get my assignment. Then on Thur is when Cami goes. Also Thurs is her doc appointment. We shall see more then. Good thing that the insurance is paying for it.

I dont normally bitch about my problems. Im not one for the spotlight. But this is too much at times. I just need to get it out of my system. Its really great to know that I have the best friends in the world. :D
